Case Studies for UGC Creators (and marketers)
What are case studies and why are they important to feature in your UGC portfolio?
Hey UGC and marketing friends!
Today I’m going to discuss a long-awaited topic: CASE STUDIES! In this article, you will learn:
What case studies are
Why you should use them
Different topics to focus on
My current case studies
What the heck are case studies?! When it comes to marketing, a case study refers to any visual that showcases how your product or service has helped past customers in an attempt to convert leads into customers.
Why should UGC creators use case studies?! As a UGC creator looking to attract new clients, case studies help edify you as a creator. Just like we would our clients, it’s imperative to market yourself by leveraging industry best practices. Case studies are a form of social proof, allowing your previous clients to speak for you versus you having to speak for yourself (it’s better to point to social proof rather than speaking on behalf of yourself). Additionally, marketing yourself through case studies and featuring USPs (unique selling points) will help your potential client see what sets you apart from the rest of your competitors.
What should my case study feature?! I know performance is the most prominent case study focus point, but it’s nice to feature other case studies with different key topics since every potential client could be different. Featuring a few various case studies with an assortment of topics enables you to attract new clients seeking UGC creators with additional needs. Case study topics include (but are not limited to):
UGC ad performance featuring KPIs (ROAS, CTR, CPA, Thumb-stop)
Overall professionalism (good communication, delivery, QC, revisions, etc.)
Sticking to brand guidelines when asked
Creating visually specific content (a particular aesthetic)
Being able to do quick turnarounds when needed
Expertise in creative strategy, video editing, or organic social (etc.)
What are your case studies?! I've been asked this question well over a hundred times! Below is a screenshot of my current case studies that I send to any potential client or job application (I redacted some information).
Alright, I hope you found this helpful! If you ever want to have me review your case studies, I offer this as a service in my Stan Store under Portfolio Audits. Ps. I've been asked a few times what paid subscribers should expect from an output standpoint each month. By August of next year (1st anniversary of this newsletter), I will have launched a minimum of 24 articles [the goal is to average 2-3 articles per month by the end of the year (24-36)]. Thank you for subscribing, and please comment with any follow-up questions you might have!
Hi! It says you launched 24 articles but I only see a few. Do I only see from when I signed up? Thank you!
